Elona Custom Content
Elona Neirisylvia: Gods & Demons
This Elona package consists of two main components: a modified executable of the Elona mod, omake overhaul, as well as a bunch of stand-alone image and script files. The modified executable, elona neirisylvian.exe, is designed to be used with the custom user files, but is still playable without them.
Elona Neirisylvia is a content package that adds a bunch of new custom NPCs, custom races, a custom god, and a slew of other features. The bizarrely-shaped humanoid races from a place known as Neirisylvia resemble animals found in nature, but with strange malformations and twisted behaviors.
Two major features I'm planning on adding to this mod are Demonic Possession and Dynamic Gods. Stay tuned for more!
Outline of Features
-
New playable race: Lagomorph
-
Has unusual body slots: they have 6 hand slots, but are initially missing some slots
-
They are physically weak, but make for good casters
-
As they gain experience, they may choose to gain missing body slots, OR grow naturally stronger
-
When they're strong enough, Lagomorphs eventually start producing their own children to help them out as allies!
-
Lagomorphs also have resistance to all elements and benefit more from eating Fruits and Vegetables, but are more vulnerable to the Etherwind!
-
-
The following races are temporarily playable in v 1.1.8: Drideria, Frogiroggi, Esathra
-
Driderias are magical spider people with highly unusual body slots. They also do not get stuck in spider webs!
-
Frogiroggis are frog people who mutate every 3 levels like Mutants do. They can also stay Wet for longer!
-
Esathra are elves covered in parasitic golden moss. Every 5 levels, they can choose which stat to gain a bonus in, and every 10 levels, they can choose a new body part to grow!
-
-
New playable class: Paladin
-
Holy warriors of justice, paladins ride into battle with their mounts while donning heavy armor. However, they must follow a strict Code of Conduct: every time you lose karma, you become a CRIMINAL!
-
-
New playable class: Druid
-
Druids are nature wizards with an unusually high magic capacity, allowing them to cast powerful spells even if their MP is low.
-
-
New playable class: Butcher
-
Butchers cleave foes with bloody axes, then proceed to harvest the flesh for use in their recipes.
-
-
New playable class: Summoner
-
Closely related to Cultists, Summoners are more specialized spellcasting. They can summon demons, and are often willing to sacrifice their lives to dark gods.
-
-
New playable class: Broodmother
-
Broodmothers have the bizarre ability to rapidly produce children. If their Charisma is high enough, they might even be able to convince those children to help them out. The "Summon Guards" ability is the main feature of this class.
-
-
New feats
-
Immune to Cuteness makes you immune to Gaze attacks from certain creatures, many of which are included in this mod.
-
Marked by the Queen sometimes makes the hostile "hive driderias" neutral instead.
-
Friend of Nature is the opposite of the drawback "Animal Discord"; it makes many wild animals neutral towards you instead
-
Divining Eye allows you to determine whether an item is cursed, before you use it or wear it
-
Lagomorp ID Card makes the alien lagomorps neutral towards you. This feat is mutually exclusive with "Milpoid ID Card".
-
Milpoid ID Card makes the alien milpoids neutral towards you. This feat is mutually exclusive with "Lagomorp ID Card".
-
Blood Pact increases your chances of successfully summoning demons, and avoiding drawbacks from it, with each rank.
-
Several extra feats are available to more monstrous characters
-
-
New drawbacks
-
Lagomorph Despoiler causes neutral lagomorphs to hate you
-
Hive Scum causes all driderias to hate you
-
Vampiric Hunger is available to take if your character has the Vampiric Ability feat. Vampiric Hunger causes you to thirst for blood. If you do not fulfill your thirst for blood, you will become frustrated!
-
Code of Conduct causes you to lose enough karma to become a criminal, every time you would lose karma
-
-
New God: Ikamekomi of Pollution
-
This dark goddess of spiders and moths loves being provided with garbage, poop, and vomit as tribute!
-
Her ability is the "Web of Destiny", allowing you to summon sticky webs by using your stamina instead of your MP.
-
Her servant is the Arthroponid, a wooly 8-legged creature that sucks blood and shoots webs.
-
Her divine item is the Mutation Box: use it to mutate once every 24 hours!
-
Her divine weapon is the Cutlass of Corruption, an unholy sword that can curse foes!
-
Lagomorph characters who are truly dedicated to their goddess gain something special after they level up...!
-
-
New status effect: Frenzy
-
Frenzy is an uncommon status effect that causes NPCs, even your pets, to attack anyone nearby. When frenzy affects you, you will attack anyone standing next to you in melee, effectively losing control of your character until the target is dead or backs away from you. In this way, the status effect is much like Paralysis or Sleep, but only if there is someone standing next to you.
-
Frenzy can be caused by rare potions of frenzy, or if you become deeply insane (the "Paranoia" status effect).
-
Frenzy can be prevented by wearing any item that grants immunity to Fear.
-
-
New status effect: Drowning
-
Drowning can be caused by certain aquatic monsters, namely the marimer and the fyogin. They can drown you only if you are standing on water tiles.
-
While drowning, you lose 10% of your maximum HP every several turns. You will be unable to act while drowning, making it similar to status effects like Paralysis.
-
The amount of time that you will spend drowning depends on attributes like your Strength, compared to that of the creature that is drowning you.
-
-
New status effect: Grappled
-
Grappled can be caused by certain monsters with special abilities. One of these monsters is the dreadful pangalan flying heads, whose kiss results in Flying Head Disease!
-
Similar to Drowning, Paralysis, and Sleep, Grappled prevents you from acting.
-
The amount of time that you will spend being grappled depends on attributes like your Strength, compared to that of the creature that is grappling you.
-
-
Factions from Omake Overhaul have been expanded with several new features
-
New creature families to help classify your custom NPCs: alien, eldritch, lapinoid, and neirisylvian
-
New features for all creatures of the demon family:
-
Demons have a chance to possess non-demons, particularly after being slain -- the Demon Hunter feat dramatically mitigates this
-
Demons have a chance of summoning more demons, particularly at higher levels
-
Monster Infighting: unlike most hostile creatures, demons are not afraid to attack anybody that accidentally damages them, even other demons!
-
-
New features for all creatures of the alien family:
-
Aliens may belong to competing alien factions, and will tend to attack all non-aliens, as well as all aliens of opposing alien factions. Two factions are notable: the lagomorps, and the milpoids
-
Certain aliens do not subject themselves to the alien faction wars: this includes powerful aliens such as yiths.
-
-
New features for all creatures of the neirisylvian family:
-
Due to their nature of being unnatural extraplanar creatures, neirisylvians also take extra damage from the Demon Hunter feat
-
Many Neirisylvians will not spawn unless Irva's "Contamination" level is high. This value tends to increase when fleeing from Neirisylvian creatures.
-
-
-
New feature: character transformations
-
Occasionally a character may suffer a transformation into another creature or race. When this happens to the player, the player has the option to either accept the transformation, or "kill" themselves, which causes an evil transformed clone of the player to take their place. The latter option kills your character.
-
Eating god meats purifies the character's body, reversing the most recent transformation they're experiencing. These tend to be very rare.
-
-
New feature: unused duplicate body slots, except hands and rings, grant bonuses to your character.
-
Every free hand grants a Casting bonus, and can also be used to make an extra unarmed strike!
-
-
New features for staves
-
Spells may now be stored into, and cast from, staves. If you have the Magic Device skill, you can store any spell that you know by using Apply (T). If successful, you can cast the stored spell from that staff later, using Zap (Z). Only one spell may be stored in a staff at a time.
-
Hands that wield a staff, still count as an unused hand for the purpose of the Casting skill; unused hand slots, and hands holding a staff, grants a Casting bonus!
-
-
New feature: more creature variants
-
There is a chance that creatures will spawn under one (or more) of several new variants. These variants have qualities that makes the creature different from their standard version
-
Fiendish-variant creatures gain the demon creature family, are considerably more powerful, and are always hostile
-
Draconic-variant creatures gain the dragon creature family, are much more powerful, and are always hostile
-
Zombie-variant creatures gain the undead creature family, are considerably weaker, and are always hostile
-
Justice-variant creatures are always neutral, but this variant is extremely rare
-
-
New infinite dungeon: Kirunia's Garden
-
Danger level is 40
-
Can be accessed by a staircase at the end of the Minotaur's Nest
-
Neirisylvian creatures, minotaurs, servants of the Kiruniae (including the minotaur-like kirunia guard), and the Kiruniae themselves tend to spawn here
-
The layout of this infinite dungeon is a maze, similar to the Minotaur's Nest
-
Minotaurs, kiruniae, and their servants increase in level every 2 floors!
-
Similar to the Void, every 100 dungeon levels, increases the starting level of spawned creatures by 100
-
-
New infinite dungeon: the Abyss
-
Danger level is 30
-
The entrance is located next to the Void, and it also requires the License of the Void Explorer to enter
-
Every creature spawned here is a demon; they are either naturally demons, or fiendish-variant creatures--so it can be expected that almost every creature here will be hostile (except a few rare neutral demons)
-
Every floor has a boss enemy, that must be defeated in order to walk back up the stairs (if you had last walked down the stairs), or back down the stairs (if you had last walked up the stairs). In general, the dungeon level may be added to the boss's creature level. This could result in bosses that are very difficult to beat.
-
The level of every fiendish-variant creature spawned here may be scaled by the current dungeon level, especially after dungeon level 30. In general however, it should not result in creatures that are 5 more levels than 30 + the dungeon level.
-
Similar to the Void, every 100 dungeon levels, increases the starting level of spawned creatures by 100
-
The layout of this dungeon varies.
-
Many levels are fiery hellholes; similar to the Tower of Fire, they require high fire resistance to prevent random fire damage!
-
Several levels are filled with darkness, nether, or cold energy, requiring similar elemental resistances
-
Several levels are "Boneyard" layers, filled with non-fiendish Undead as well as demons; these layers use a more familiar brown cave tileset
-
Several levels use a frosty tileset
-
Several levels are submerged in water, and are filled with malicious aquatic creatures
-
Several levels are mazes, filled with fiendish minotaurs
-
-
-
A lagomorph NPC, named <Merrimy> envoy of black woods, has taken up residence at the Palmia Casino. She doesn't currently do much, but she hopes to raise money by running some kind of raffle.
-
Many new creatures and features help serve new challenges for bold adventurers! NPCs may share dialogue that hint at the existence of new features
